SAID

Step 5 - Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability

Do you meet the financial eligibility to receive either the Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability (SAID) or the Saskatchewan Income Support (SIS)?

You answered "no".

Here is what you will need to know if you do not meet the financial eligibility to receive either the Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability (SAID) or the Saskatchewan Income Support (SIS)

If you do not meet the financial eligibility criteria and you disagree with this decision, you have the right to appeal. You can see more details about the appeals process under the section titled After you apply - approved or denied, “What happens if your application is denied?”

If you do meet the financial criteria, you can receive temporary SAID benefits. Temporary SAID benefits will be less than the full SAID benefits. This will allow time for you to complete all aspects of the application and for the Ministry to determine if your full application will be approved.

Important information about benefits for Indigenous Peoples

If you are Indigenous there are many things that affect the benefits you can get and the dollar amounts you can get from them. These include the agreements your band or governing body has with provincial, territorial, and federal governments. Before applying to any benefits, you should speak with your governing body, if applicable.

AFOA Canada and Prosper Canada are currently seeking funding to develop an online tool that serves the needs of Indigenous people living in Canada.
