SAID

Step 1 - Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability

Have you started the application process by registering online or contacting a Client Service Representative by phone or in person?

You answered "no".

Here is the information you will need to start the application process.

The first step you will need to take to start your application depends on whether you are currently receiving the Saskatchewan Income Support (SIS). Please select the correct option below to see how to start your application.

How to start your application if you are not receiving Income Assistance

If you are not receiving Income Assistance, you can apply Online. Applying online gives you the ability to change your address, update your contact information and upload documents through an online portal. You can start your application by creating a Saskatchewan.ca Account. These step-by-step instructions will walk you through the process of creating an account.

Once your account has been created, you will need to answer some questions and upload documents, such as pay stubs and rental agreements, to verify your information. You have 15 days from the start of your application to complete all the questions and upload your documents.

You also have the option to apply by phone. You can call the SAID program at 1-888-567-7243. You can also call if you have any questions about the process of applying online.

If you need help completing your online application or if you do not have access to the internet, computer or a phone, you can also visit your nearest Social Services office. There you will be able to request help or access a phone or computer to complete your application.

If you are a current Saskatchewan Income Support (SIS) client wishing to apply for SAID, please speak with your Planning and Support Specialist or call 1-888-567-7243.

Important information about benefits for Indigenous Peoples

If you are Indigenous there are many things that affect the benefits you can get and the dollar amounts you can get from them. These include the agreements your band or governing body has with provincial, territorial, and federal governments. Before applying to any benefits, you should speak with your governing body, if applicable.
