ODSP

Step 8 - Ontario Disability Support Program

Has ODSP reviewed your disability determination package (DDP)?

You answered "no".

Here is the information you will need to have ODSP review your disability determination package (DDP)

Specialized staff will review your disability determination package (DDP) to determine if you meet the legislative definition of a person with a disability. You will receive a letter from the Disability Adjudication Unit within 90 business days to let you know if your disability qualified.

If your disability does qualify, it means you meet the disability criteria and can receive ODSP.

If you disability does not qualify, it means you did not meet the disability criteria and you cannot receive ODSP. For information about next steps you can take, see the section titled, After you apply - approved or denied: “What happens if your application is denied?”.

Important information about benefits for Indigenous Peoples

If you are Indigenous there are many things that affect the benefits you can get and the dollar amounts you can get from them. These include the agreements your band or governing body has with provincial, territorial, and federal governments. Before applying to any benefits, you should speak with your governing body, if applicable.

AFOA Canada and Prosper Canada are currently seeking funding to develop an online tool that serves the needs of Indigenous people living in Canada.
