How to apply

Here are the steps you can follow to apply for ODSP. Click ‘Start step 1’ at the bottom of this page. This will take you to step one. At the bottom of each page there will be a “Next” button you can click once you have completed that step. If you have already completed a step, you can skip it. Go ahead and start by clicking on the step where you would like to start.

You can go through the steps at your own pace. If you need help at any step, go to the Help page to find out where you can get support with your application.

  1. Have you ensured that all of your family members are present when you are completing your online application?
  2. Have you collected all of the information about yourself and your family members you will need to complete your online application?
  3. Have you entered the personal information about yourself and your family members into your online application?
  4. Has ODSP reviewed your online application?
  5. Have you met with the ODSP office to sign and verify your application?
  6. Have you met the financial eligibility requirements to receive ODSP?
  7. Have you submitted a disability determination package?
  8. Has ODSP reviewed your disability determination package (DDP)?
  9. Have you been approved to receive financial assistance through ODSP?
  10. Congratulations

Important information about benefits for Indigenous Peoples

If you are Indigenous there are many things that affect the benefits you can get and the dollar amounts you can get from them. These include the agreements your band or governing body has with provincial, territorial, and federal governments. Before applying to any benefits, you should speak with your governing body, if applicable.
